This picture was taken in 1960 - 1961.  My mom, Reva was around 42 years of age when she was diagnosed with breast cancer.  She died when she was 48.  I remember the day like it was yesterday, when she found out she had cancer.  I was around 5 years old. I was 11 when she died.

Cancer robbed her from seeing me become an adult, knowing her seven grandchildren, and even now her seven great grandchildren.  She and my husband, Carl, would have gotten along fantastically.

In 2008 I will be 48.  This year, Carl and I  will be participating in 6 of the 7 Weekend To End Breast Cancer events to honour her life, her spirit, and her courage.
